I grew up using everyday Mason jars for drinking glasses. As a kid, I always thought it was neat to drink out of a jar! Well, after many of our wedding glasses broke, we decided to clean and use our pasta sauce jars as drinking glasses. They're made of much more durable glass and last longer.
I've also discovered these small jars great for juice glasses. They have a star pattern around the rim, making them look less like jars, and more like actual drinking glasses. My kids love them and they're great for 4th of July! Believe it or not, they are the Armour Dried Beef jars. You can find them in your canned meat aisle. I grew up drinking out of those very same dried beef jars! We always had plenty of them... Mom's chipped beef over toast was a favorite dinner in our house. Oh, the good old days - when we could eat stuff like that without guilt!
