Menu Plan Thursday

It's been forever since I've posted a menu plan. In our house, we've all begun to fall into a summer schedule and are living life a bit more leisurely these days. Thus, the weekly menu has not been what it ought to be. I notice I tend to desire to eat out more when the menu isn't planned, which in turn causes a higher cost in our food budget. That needs to get nipped in the bud!

So, here's my Menu Plan for the week:
(We start on Thursdays because it's always been my grocery shopping day.)

Day 1:

  • Breakfast: Cereal w/Milk & Fruit
  • Lunch: Mac & Cheese w/Peas & Homemade Applesauce
  • Dinner: Homemade Pizza (Publix Pizza Dough w/sauce, mozzarella, & Boar's Head pepperoni)
Day 2:
  • Breakfast: Sweet Rolls w/Eggs & Fruit
  • Lunch: PB & J w/Carrot sticks
  • Dinner: Taco Night w/Homemade Tortillas
Day 3:
  • Breakfast: French Toast w/Banana Slices & Sausage
  • Lunch: Tuna Salad Wraps
  • Dinner: Grilled Chicken w/Couscous & Steamed Broccoli
Day 4:
  • Breakfast: Whole Wheat Raspberry-Orange Muffins w/Fruit & Yogurt
  • Lunch: Publix Fried Chicken
  • Dinner: Leftovers
Day 5:
  • Breakfast: Cereal w/Milk & Fresh Fruit
  • Lunch: PB & J w/ Carrot sticks
  • Dinner: Hamburgers w/Corn on the Cob & Salad
Day 6:
  • Breakfast: Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal
  • Lunch: Pizza Bread (Pillsbury French Loaf w/cheese & pepperoni rolled up inside) served w/Marinara Sauce
  • Dinner: Chicken Stir Fry w/Noodles
Day 7:
  • Breakfast: Egg Muffin Sandwiches w/Fresh Fruit
  • Lunch: BLT Sandwiches w/Apple Slices

Here are the menu items I'll make ahead of time:

Our household has noticed the same trend. It seems when we don't have a menu plan we eat more ready to eat foods or dining out than we would normally.
