I did something today that I have not done in almost 9 years... I went grocery shopping in the middle of the week - during the day - without a single child! Yes, you heard me! I hate to admit it, but it was everything I dreamed it would be... almost blissful! I even ran into some girlfriends of mine and chatted without interruption.
Trust me, I have had the complete opposite experience for years (and I enjoy those moments too, believe it or not), but I do appreciate the blessing that God's given me of a little down time from my children. Of course, they are completely enjoying their new school as we are taking a break from homeschooling.
