A NEW Homeschool Resource Site!

...and best of all, you are the FIRST to know about it! After searching online for a clear, informative, and easy-to-navigate homeschool resource site, we felt there was a need for one. I am simply a co-author of HomeSchoolPrep.com, but the other author (a good friend of mine) is a certified and licensed teacher with a Masters in Education. Between the two of us, we have nearly 25 years of teaching experience from preschool to 12th grade. So, since I know a little and she knows a lot, we decided to create this website to help and encourage other homeschoolers.

As we have only just begun, you have the opportunity to be with us from the very beginning! Aren't you excited?! We hope you come along, tell your friends about us, and let's journey through the world of homeschooling together!

You might ask, "What is HomeSchool Prep all about?"

HomeSchoolPrep.com offers curriculum and educational resource reviews, a thorough list of curriculum and supplemental items, and helpful tips to help you create a fun, creative, educational, and simplified environment for your homeschool. As we are continually adding to our site, you will find free downloadable forms and educational materials in the near future.

You can find a direct link to HomeSchoolPrep.com on my Menu Bar at top under HOMESCHOOL.

Discounts on Homeschool Curriculum

As you know, we are a homeschooling family. We've been homeschooling for about 2 1/2 years, but this was the first year I was able to make it to a homeschool convention. It was great to be able to look at all the curriculum first-hand and hear some very encouraging seminars. I wanted to take a minute to share with you some of my favorite curriculums and how you can find great discounts on them!

I've mentioned Hooked On Phonics recently and how it is one of my preferred tools for teaching my children how to read. Right now you can receive 75% off!!

Here's another curriculum source that I absolutely recommend! Alpha Omega Publications offers curriculum such as LIFEPAC, Horizons, Switched-On Schoolhouse, and The Weaver Curriculum. Homeschool Mondays

Well, Monday has come and gone, but due to sickness in our home, it was a rough Monday, and I'm finally able to write this on Tuesday. Next week, I hope to be right on schedule.

As I'm still getting this topic off the ground, click HERE to get a recap of what "Homeschool Mondays" are all about.

Here's my tip for the week!
Be flexible in your homeschool schedule!!!

For 2 weeks, I had hoped to get an early start on our homeschooling, which would allow us to take more time off in the Fall and Spring (our favorite times of the year to spend outdoors). But alas, sickness has kept us from starting. So, today is our official start day... that is, unless someone gets sick...

Maybe you're a seasoned homeschooler or just a beginner like me. I hope you'll share with us any tips that make homeschooling easier for you or just what works for you. If you can also share how many children you homeschool or any curriculum you use, that would also be helpful to any of us reading.

Homeschool Mondays

As a homeschooling Mom of 3, just starting into my 2nd year, I wanted to start this new weekly Post for all of you homeschoolers out there and me! I will be posting homeschool tips, deals on curriculum, organization helps, schedule hints, etc. every Monday morning. If you have any helpful tips, please comment. If I get enough comments and people interested in this weekly post, I will start a Mister Linky so that you can post on your blog and link to mine.

This week I will just let you know what we're using for curriculum this year. I have a 1st grader, a preschooler, and a toddler. This is our curriculum of choice:

1st Grade Daughter
Preschool Daughter
Toddler Son
  • Puzzles :)
  • Hopefully he'll behave and stay out of trouble... haha
Please comment and tell me what you're using for curriculum, or your style of homeschooling, and the reason you like what you're using! My hope is that we can help each other and be an encouragement to one another.
